In order to celebrate Saint Constantine of Orval, Meta House hosts Phnom Penh’s first Belgian night. The evening kicks off with director/singer-songwriter Tom Barman’s short movie Turnpike (1996), which was shown in cinema’s across Europe as a prelude to ‘Trainspotting’. Next is his ‘Anyway the Wind Blows’ (2003), a sort of slightly surreal ‘Shortcuts’ set in the Flemish port city of Antwerp. On a warm day in June, several unrelated people and the weird mister Winterman independently go about their lives yet all end up on the same place for a grand party that evening. The noble gentlemen of the eclectic Belgian Beats Soundsystem will then turn fiction into reality, bringing you a mix of the country’s finest grooves and housy electronica, while you enjoy some world renowned Belgian beers and retro visuals. Not to miss!
